She grew up in a home filled with conflict - Unbreakable

8:00

As a child, Lejla Dauti escaped genocide in Eastern Europe and moved to London with her family. Despite a fresh start, she grew up in a home filled with domestic violence and misogyny. In her early 20s, she entered a relationship with a seemingly loving man who soon became violent and coercive. After 8 years of abuse, Lejla found the strength to escape. Today, she shares her story to inspire and empower other women who have suffered at the hands of abusive partners. Unbreakable is a bold, gripping and revelatory digital film and audio podcast series hosted by Nina Aouilk, a life coach and survivor of a childhood marked by extreme and disturbing abuse. In each episode, Nina sits face-to-face with female and male survivors of violent and abusive crime, creating a safe space for them to share not just the pain of their experiences, but also the incredible journeys they took to escape.
