Originally from Somalia, Hibo Wardere recalls the happiest years of her life as her early years. She underwent female genital mutilation at the age of six, which changed everything for her. As a result of the event, Hibo suffered physical and emotional trauma. When civil war broke out in Somalia at the age of 18, Hibo was able to come to England as an asylum seeker and begin the healing process. Today, she speaks out against the practice.
