Entrusted by her parents to the care of her great aunt Marie-Therese Kouao, Victoria Climbié was promised an education and better life in Europe.
Unbeknownst to them, Victoria was to be systematically abused, neglected and used as a pawn for Kouao to access better state housing, first in Paris, and then in London.
On her admittance to hospital, Victoria’s core temperature was so low it could not be measured with normal hospital instruments, and hours later Victoria died, just a year after leaving her parents.
