Barnsley born KatherineKelly is one of Britain’s most prolific and television actors. Instantly recognisable, her most notable characters include Lady Mae Loxley in Mr Selfridge, Inspector Shackleton in Happy Valley and as barmaid Becky McDonald in Coronation Street: Britain’s longest-running soap.
Born into a theatre-loving family and trained at Rada, the mother-of-two has been in the public eye for nearly two decades picking up plenty of awards along the way. Her most recent credits include Elizabeth Sutherland in Gentleman Jack for BBC1, and as the lead role in ITV’s new hit drama Cheat.
The four-part psychological thriller sees Kelly play university Professor Leah who finds herself embroiled in a case of academic deception with a pupil that quickly spirals out of control, with fatal consequences.
