Crimes That Shook Britain is returning for a ninth series to explore some of the most chilling crimes that sent shockwaves across the UK.

Broadcaster and lead contributor Dermot Murnaghan is joined by a team of experts and witnesses to examine the cases that gripped the nation and highlight their impact on Britain.

Told by the families, friends and communities at the heart of the crimes, Crimes That Shook Britain analyses the events that led to such atrocities before examining the devastating effects that they have left in their wake. Police evidence, eyewitness accounts and archive news footage help to unpack the cases and put the viewers at the forefront of the investigations.

Some of the cases covered in the new series include the Christmas Eve murder of innocent bystander Elle Edwards, the entirely unprovoked stabbings of three men in a Reading park, the spate of deaths caused by American XL Bully attacks and the torture and murder of Shakira Spencer.
