02 March - Nick Leeson arrested for defrauding $1.4 billion from Barings Bank

The trillions poured into failing banks that lost billions during the 2007 Credit Crunch means that $1.4 billion no longer seems such an enormous amount. But back in the 1990s, it was enough to immediately destroy the Queen’s bank, Barings.
