Only the night before, and one hour before he was to sit in the electric chair, British born Nicholas Ingram had had a stay of execution. He’d been on death row since 1983 for murdering JC Sawyer, a military veteran, during a robbery but the appeal process was over. Ingram declined his final meal and when the warden asked him for any last words, Ingram simply spat at him. At 9:06 pm on a Friday on this date, Nicholas Ingram was put to death by electrocution.
